In 1999 I took made a rather quick decision to enroll in esthetics at Avant-Garde College of Esthetics in Regina, Sk. after a friend of mine told me I would be good at it. I have always had a love of skincare and doing my own nails and make-up. In February of 2000, I graduated my full esthetics course including nail enhancements. I ended up staying in school to take a Commercial Make-Up course which I graduated from in May that year. Throughout the years I have taken many product knowledge courses and many other training workshops through different companies. This year adding laser hair removal and skin rejuvenation as my newest addition to my business.

At the end of 2008, I decided to open my own business at home. Halo Esthetics by Alison. In 2013 I went on to receive my dual Journey Person status, Esthetics-Skin Care and Esthetics-Nail Technician. After my practical exams, I was invited to sit on the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Esthetics board and still do today. In 2019/20 I had the pleasure of being the industry expert for the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education high school curriculum update for Hairstyling and Esthetics (formerly cosmetology). In 2019 I was nominated and appointed onto the Sask Apprenticeship and Trade Commission Board as the Agriculture, Tourism, and Service industry employer representative.

Having the opportunity to sit on these boards gives me the enthusiasm to help people live their dream along with helping them work towards it. There is always dreams and goals, you just have to reach for them.

In addition to running my business and other professional interests, I am a busy mom of 3 boys that keeps me on my toes. Developing my own business was the best opportunity I have embraced myself in and allows me to be the best I can be for myself and my family.
